Dr. Alejos, Juan C. Founder's Heart With Hope Mission
Juan Carlos Alejos, M.D. graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, on 1983 and from the University of Michigan medical School in 1987, Inteflex Program. He was a University of Michigan Regent’s Scholar 1979. He did his internship in Pediatrics UCLA Medical Center 1987-1988 followed by a residency in Pediatrics UCLA 1988-1990 and a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology UCLA 1990-1993.
Academic Appointments: Clinical Instructor, Dept. of Pediatrics, Division of Cardiology UCLA Medical Center from 1993-1995, Assistant Clinical Professor 1995-2002, Associate Professor 2002 to present. He was Medical Director Pediatric Heart Transplant/Cardiomyopathy Program from 1995 to present, Associate Medical director Pediatric Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit 1997 to present. He is Director of Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Lab since 2006 and Director of Pediatric Pulmonary Vascular Diseases since 2005.
Dr. Alejos is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Subspecialty Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology. He is BCLS Certified. He has received numerous awards for assistance and support of the pediatric population of Peru.
